Evaluation

This unit has given me variety choices and expand my creativity to develop my character through the use of silicone molding. Through the amounts of research, it allows me to find inspirations and develop my designs for the snake bite wound and also my flytrap human hybrid. I found the most challenging part of this project is to do research as my snake bite project, I found it quite difficult to find references for my snake bite wound idea from different sources as there are not much information about it. But I have overcome this problem by researching real cases and watching documentaries about snakebites.
For the brave new word project, I have first researched different species in nature, films, architecture and artworks to find inspirations and this allows me to understand how I can develop the ideas for my character. In order to understand more about flytraps, I have researched further about it and this helps me to present the ideas of my hybrid as well. I have created and experimented with different designs and materials to see which is the best for my character. Although I'm a bit disappointed with the silicone molds on the neck and shoulder areas of my character during the assessment as I think my practice ones look better, I have learnt from the mistakes and this allows me to understand what I need to improve on in the future. In conclusions, I enjoy this unit because it allows me to learn new skills and also build my pathway to do prosthetics make-up in the future.
