Hair Designs for my Human Flytrap Hybrid

For the hair design of my hybrid, I want to use braids as it reminds me of the overlapping roots of the plants. My model has got dark brown hair so it matches the color of the roots. Also, because I want to secure my flytraps props that I've made on the head, braids will be a right choice as it helps me to place and secure the flytraps on the hair. On below, I have done three hair designs.

1 st design:
Crown braid

The reason I used the crown braid is because I like how the crown braid has created the pattern which looks like plants roots going through each other. Also, by doing the crown braid, it helps me to place the flytraps props that I've made and is good for me to secure them on the head. I have taken strands of hair from the front as I want to create a bit messy hair effect. The reason I did this is because as my character lives in boggy areas, she won't have neat tidy hair and so the hairstyle can helps me to tell the story of my character.
After that, I have placed the flytraps on the braid to see how the hairstyle looks.

2nd design:
French braid
For my second design, I have used the french braid and I also have taken strands of hair at the front to create the messy effect. I have made the braid more loose to create a bit messy as well. The braid also helps me to place the flytraps on the head.
After that, I have placed the flytraps on the braid.

3rd design:
Wet Sleek back hair and two normal braids going through the hair
On design 3, I have created a sleek back wet hair look and the inspiration is come from the rain as my character is living outside. I have also used the braids on this design to show the thin roots patterns. I have positioned the braids in different directions and going through the hair because I want to show how the roots grow in different directions. The braids also help me to place the flytraps on the head as well.

Then, I have placed the flytraps on the head to see how it goes with the hairstyle.

Chosen design: Design 1
Among the three designs, I think design 1 will be the most suitable for my final design as compare with design 2, I think in design 2, the french braid limits the positions of the flytraps and I think the directions of the flytraps is quite fix and looks like a row pattern. For design 3, I also think the positions of the flytraps are quite limited as well and also because the braid is thin as I want to create thin roots effect, the flytraps are not secured very well. In conclusion, I have decided to use design 1 for my final design, but I will experiment with the positions of how I should place the flytraps on the braid in the later post.
