On below, I have watched some videos and documentaries about the Venus Flytraps and it allows me to understand more about the plants which will help me to develop ideas for my hybrid character.
Venus Flytraps
The video on above shows how a fly got attracted by the flytrap's sugary nectar on the inner surface of the flytrap and when the fly gets contact with the tiny trigger hairs of the flytraps, within seconds, the flytraps lobes shut and trapped the insect inside. Sometimes if the insect is too big or lucky, they can escape from the trap. The video then shows 10 days later, the trap reopens and the flytrap has absorb enough nutrients from the fly.
On above is a video showing how the flytrap plants developed over a year time. It is shown in fast motion and you can see how the flytraps grow more and more over time and some of them die which turns into black in color.
The video on above shows the Venus Flytraps in their native environment and the process of how they catches insects to get nutrients. References:
